Nokia Lumia 900 Launched in India for INR 32,999

Nokia announced Lumia 900 at WMC, in March 2012. Its a long wait to arrive this phone to Indian consumer market as it was supposed to launch sooner. No more wait, its finally here. Nokia Lumia is now available to order from Nokia’s online store at a price of INR 32,999.

This is among the much talked phones at MWC. The price tag of 32,999 looks a bit high for a Windows Phone 7.5 but still it has hardware plus points. Lumia 900 features 1.4GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 4.3-inch ClearBlack AMOLED display, 16GB of non-expandable storage and an 8MP f2.2/28 Carl Zeiss dual LED flash camera with 720p video capture. For video calling purposes phone has 1 MP camera on the front. It doesn’t have HD display.

The GPS system on the phone supports GLONASS positioning. US version of the phone supports both 4G LTE and HSPA+ but Indian customers will get HSPA+ version. As we in India still don’t have 4G technology so non-LTE version is not a point of concern.

Phone has a large capacity battery of 1830 mAh that gives up to 7 hours talk time and 12 days standby time on 3G. The drawback of Lumia 900 is that it will not receive Windows Phone 8 upgrade as per Microsoft policy. But Nokia promises to give a new User Interface and look to Lumia 900, 800, 710 and 610 that will give the feel of Windows Phone 8.
