BSNL Launched 3 Tablets, Priced Between Rs. 3,205 to Rs. 13,500

BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) launches three tablets in India to heat up the cheap tablet market. These tablets are named as Penta TPAD IS 701R, Penta TPAD WS704C and Penta TPAD WS802C and made by a Noida based company, Pantel. The first two tablets have 7 inch resistive screen with Android 2.3 operating system while the third tablet comes with an 8 inch capacitive touchscreen.

All the devices runs on free Google’s Android OS. The customers can either shop BSNL Tab from the BSNL outlets or the retail stores. This devices seems as the biggest thread to Aakash tablet.

Penta TPAD IS701R: Price Rs. 3,2500

This is the cheapest model and has specifications similar to Aakash tablet with some improvements. Panta Tpad is a Wi-Fi only tablet with Android 2.3 OS and has a 1 GHz processor (ARM11 IMAP210) & 256 MB RAM. The tablet also offers HDMI port through which it can be connected to a TV. Its 7 inch resistive touch screen comes with 800×600 resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. The tablet has a 3000 mAh battery and 2 GB internal memory which can be expanded through micro SD card. The tablet also has a VGA front-facing camera for video calling. The tablet will be sold along with special data plans and 3G services from BSNL.

Penta TPAD WS704C: Price Rs. 10,990

All the specifications are same except this model supports 3G connectivity with CDMA/EVDO and GSM, in-built a-GPS, Bluetooth and Accelerometer. In spite of 256MB RAM in its cheapest model, TPAD WS704C has 512 MB of RAM for better performance. Device also has a 2 MP rear camera.

Penta TPAD WS802C: Price Rs. 13,500

This tab has 8-inch capacitive touch screen for better usability. Device also comes with 1.2 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM. But the internal memory of this model is 4 GB which is highest among three.

Last two model do not have a branding of BSNL unlike the basic model. These tablets can be purchase online or from outlets by 1st March. BSNL is offering all its new tablets with a 2G SIM and free download of data for 3 months.
